Don’t know what to get your guy for Christmas? Here are some gift ideas for the BF!

Girls, we’ve all been there. Maybe you know your guy inside and out and still have some trouble with what to get him, or maybe you’ve started dating someone new and you’re really struggling. Here are a few fool-proof ideas on what to get your special someone.

1. Something Cozy

It’s winter; unless your man is a freak who likes to freeze (and if he is, no offense), you can’t go wrong with something warm and snuggly.

For example, these O’Hanlon Mills Moccasins from Urban Outfitters are super comfy and come in five different colors (reviews on the site say they run a little large- order a size down)! At only $28 they’re a steal. Pair them with some silly or snuggly socks for the perfect gift combo!

Also check out the always classic American Apparel Flex Fleece Zip Hoodie. It’s super soft and comes in tons of colors, so you’ll definitely find one that he’ll love.

2. Something Unforgivingly Manly (And Hilarious)

I don’t know how your man feels about his facial hair, but mine isn’t pleased with his. Perhaps these mustache mirror decals will cheer him up! Damn, will he look dapper or what?

While we’re on the subject of manly gag gifts, why not throw in something… bacony? Yes, this bacon scented soap will have your guy smelling delicious in no time. Maybe his car needs some help, too.

Last but not least, what could be manlier than making your own beer? Check out this beer making kit from Fred Flare.

3. Something Nerdy

Almost every guy is a little nerdy; cater to his geeky side with one of these nerdy gifts.

Basic nerd gear includes everything Star Wars. What could be better suited for a nerd than this hilarious How To Speak Wookiee book? It’s filled with great illustrations of different wookiee-speak scenarios and even has a little speaker that allows you to hear Wookiee sounds. Awesome, right?

For something a little cuddlier, try GIANTmicrobes plush toys. All your favorite microscopic maladies, critters, and venereal diseases are available in large plush form (they’re actually super cute, btw)!

What would this nerdy selection be without a little Minecraft (if your boyfriend doesn’t know what this is, you should probably just ignore this whole section)? ThinkGeek has some super cool Minecraft Sheet Magnets. Clever, eh?

4. Something That’s Actually For A Kid (But Is Still Really Cool)

If there’s something we’ve stereotyped all guys as, it’s immature. But hey, what’s wrong with that? Show your guy you’re okay with him being a kid again every once in a while. Who knows- maybe you’ll want to join in!

Now, the obvious gift here is Nerf Guns. You can find a huge selection on Amazon.

Really though, kids these days have some awesome toys at their disposal. The other day the BF and I came across a little something called Glow Crazy. Basically, you draw on this glow in the dark thing with a laser pen. We were stoked.

Another thing that caught my eye recently is the Air Swimmers RC Flying Sea Life toy. Seriously, how cool are these things? They’re big remote controlled fish that fly! He’ll have tons of fun playing with it and terrorizing his cat (I recommend the shark).

Want to really take him back to his childhood? Try a hot wheels track. I bet he hasn’t owned one of those for a while. He’s sure to love it!

5. Something He’ll Look Great In

Ladies, if you love to dress your man, or if he’s running out of stuff to wear, these gift ideas are sure to please.

You can never go wrong with a nice button down. Whether it’s a plaid AE flannel or an UO Oxford, he’s sure to look good in it.

If you’re feeling a little more daring and willing to splurge, check out the handsome D Collection Berlin Jacket from Urban Outfitters. At $178 it’s pretty pricey, but boy, oh boy, does it look good on a man. Mama likes.

Last but not least, we’ve all seen the classic boat shoe. Some people are vehemently against this preppy staple or think it’s just too overdone. Personally, I think it just needs a little upgrade, which is exactly what you get with these Polo Ralph Lauren Sander Canvas Boat Shoes. The young colors and fabric give us a much needed break from those typical Sperry Top-Siders while still keeping it classy.

I hope these ideas have helped to ease your pain while making stressful gift giving decisions! Look for some of these things while you’re out shopping early Friday morning. Good luck!

Mod Cloth

Click to go to item.

Sci Fi Heroine Dress, $47.99

Hey, blogosphere! Looking for cute vintage/retro inspired clothing, shoes and accessories? Look no further than ModCloth. I came across this website more than a year ago, and I have been going back to it ever since. Mod Cloth has a wide selection of cute, indie clothes inspired by almost every decade (they also sell cute home items, by the way). They have some of the most interesting, unique pieces I’ve ever seen, and every time I visit the site I fall in love with something. The clothes are unlike those of any other store, and although some of the pieces tend to be a tad pricey, they still sell out very quickly. They usually post a few new items every day, so there’s always plenty to choose from.

So Unusual Dress, $43.99

However, ModCloth’s claim to fame is no doubt their collection of real, one of a kind vintage items, which sell out almost instantly. At least one new vintage item is posted each day. The size and condition of the item are listed and they even tell you what the tag says.

Basically, ModCloth is amazing, so check ’em out!

Kings Of Leon

Alright, if you haven’t been under a rock, you’ve probably heard of these guys before. With hits like “Sex on Fire,” “Use Somebody” and “Notion,” who hasn’t heard of Kings of Leon? Not to mention nine top 40 singles (UK), two Brit Awards, three albums reaching the top 5 on the UK Albums Chart. Their new album, Only by the Night was the Nashville based band’s claim to fame in the US. They took home three Grammy awards this year, including Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Song for “Use Somebody.” So yeah,

Ooo, yes. Get as close to the camera as you want.

they’re pretty successful. And it’s no surprise! Lead singer Caleb Followill has arguably the most unique voice in modern rock and roll. Their ever-evolving bluesy/southern rock/alternative sound is refreshing. Also refreshing are the bands’ strong family roots (duh, the band members are three brothers and their cousin). Yes, among all their success, the guys are as humble as ever. They still take plenty of time out to be with their family and their girls, and still lead relatively normal lives.

While the new album is fantastic and by all means a work of art, what a lot of people don’t realize is that they already had a huge body of work, including Aha Shake Heartbreak, Because of the Times and Youth and Young manhood, all of which personally blow my mind. The sound changes a bit the farther back  you go in their albums, and you can really see how much they’ve changed over the years. Of course, any change in sound gets criticized by long time fans, and KoL have gotten flack from theirs, but to me the guys are just exploring their sound, and I couldn’t love them any more.

Want more info on Kings of Leon? You can visit their official website, check out some behind the scenes clips of the making of Only by the Night or check them out in concert.

Forever 21

Hi again! So, I recently discovered this store, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Forever 21 has tons of cute clothes for super cheap. The store has all the latest trends. You can find anything floral, bow-back, zippered, cut-out, acid or marbled wash, studded, destroyed, animal print, bold shouldered and so much more, all for really, really low prices. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything from them over $35, and that’s pretty rare as cute clothes go.

Bow-back floral dress, $11.50

Forever 21 also has something they call Fab Finds, which is where you find the best deals on the site. You can find cute dresses and skirts for under $10, and shirts and tanks for under $5. They also have daily 21 specials: 21 items randomly selected to have 20% off the normal price for the day.

With all these great deals, the items sell out of smaller sizes pretty quickly online. Although, as I’ve recently discovered, most things that sell out quickly online remain in stores for quite some time. On a recent trip to the mall, I saw a dress that I drooled over for a week online but sold out before I had a bit of cash to go shopping. Needless to say, I pretty much screamed and ran across the store (which was HUGE, by the way, it consisted of several rooms) and grabbed it. I also picked up this colorful zipper-back dress before it even showed up online (which makes my butt look awesome) for

Studded Canvas Flats, $18.80

$15.80 (the same price as it is online). I must warn you though, things with exposed zippers tend to pull out your hair if it’s long.

Seriously, F21 rocks. Check them out online or in stores and pick up something cute, like the shoes at right, or the dress above. So cute!

Matt Bomer

Hi, all. I have recently discovered the USA show White Collar. USA has a history of awesome shows, such as Monk, Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, and Psych. White Collar is no exception. I was watching Monk, and after it ended White Collar came on. At first, I was going to change the Channel. That is, until I saw this devilishly good-looking creature…

Hellooooo, hottie.

That big ball of cute is be Matthew Bomer, and needless to say, he captured my attention and I ended up watching the show, which also happened to  be the first episode.  The second and third episodes showed after that and I was sucked into the show, not just by the obvious eye candy, but by it’s interesting plot and characters. Matt plays Neal Caffrey, an extremely intelligent con-man who escapes from prison with only four months left on his sentence to find his ex-girlfriend, who he believes is in trouble. When he is recaptured, he strikes up a deal with agent Burke to work for the FBI and help catch other criminals in exchange for his freedom (well, he wears an ankle bracelet, but it’s better than jail) and the rest is history. Season two of the show premiers this summer, so be sure to look for it!

You might also recognize Matt from his part as a reoccurring character (Bryce Larkin) on the  TV show “Chuck” or from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.”  You can find his complete filmography  at IMBD. But for now, enjoy the shirtless wonder below.

Ooo la la

You’re welcome.

Anyone there?

Hello cyberspace. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Miranda and I have (obviously) decided to start a blog. This blog will eventually develop into a large collection of every person, place, or thing I find interesting enough to want to tell people about (that is, if anyone actually ever reads this). This blog is for everything intriguing, intelligent, fun, clever, cute, spectacular, surprising, hilarious or lovely I come across and wish to share with the members of the internet savvy world. I’m new to this, so leave me a comment and say hi! I have no clue how this will turn out, so here goes nothing…
